Seismic simulation now added to workflow in cdem2Ddesktop

I have developed an integrated, multi-stage numerical pipeline that bridges discrete element modelling (DEM) and reflection seismology by converting particle-based structural simulations into depth-migrated seismic sections.

The workflow firstly maps particle-based discrete element outputs (coordinates, radii, density, velocity) onto regular spatial grids using bounding-box spatial interpolation.

It then computes acoustic impedance and generates synthetic seismic sections via phase-shift upward wavefield extrapolation and Ricker wavelet convolution.

The final stage is Phase Shift Plus Interpolation (PSPI) post-stack depth migration with local velocity interpolation and absorbing boundary conditions to resolve complex structural geometries.

In addition to viewing within the Application we also output fully calibrated velocity models and seismic sections in text, raw binary, and SEG-Y formats.
